VINEYARD CREDENTIALS
Even if, in the mid-19th century, the property of the Opera Pia Barolo extended over the western slope of this MGA, many consider - and not inaccurately - that the true heart of Gabutti is represented by the vineyards situated between Paratada and Cascina Marianot, where the full southern exposures succeed in compensating for the morphology of the terrain which, in certain cases, is not as open and luminous as in other famous MGA of this township.
Here the style of the Barolo ranges from the rugged and rather classical tannic impact to the rougher Barolo, whereas the eastern side of the cru offers the flowing and floral style of Giovanni Sordo's Gabutti.
